Been a fan of the Columbus Crew since 1996. Unfortunately an unpleasant experience with Save The Crew militants ruined that all for me. As somebody who has read Field of Schemes I’m against any taxpayer money going to any billionaire’s pet projects.
The difference between Browns fans and Crew fans is that Browns fans will readily admit Jimmy Haslam is a dirtbag who should be in prison for widespread defrauding of truck drivers. You’d be hard pressed to find any Browns fan willing to carry water for tax money going to any of his projects.
Wish I could say the same about Crew supporters.
The militants instead choose to pretend $150 million going to roads and “infrastructure” to support their new stadium just north of Franklinton is a genius move for a team averaging 14,856 fans a game. That’s good for fourth-worst in the MLS which in of itself is a fucking Ponzi Scheme.
Nevermind the lack of pushback from the militants when “affordable” housing requirements got halved. I’m done with that kindergarten club and its suburbanite fanbase. Laid my scarf and sweatshirt next to the dumpster in the alley behind my house and it was gone within an hour.
Also I’ve planned to vote for Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Democratic Primary since he announced his candidacy. However that vote is now in question as a new hero as risen though I’m not sure if the Constitution would allow Quilty the Cat to run for president:

If this cat is not released from prison in the next 24 hours then I will have no choice but to send the Navy Seals to free this majestic beast from his sadistic captors.
OH MY GOD THE ANTI-VAXXER IDIOTS HAVE A FOOTHOLD IN THE STATEHOUSE

Ohio is a great state filled with millions of kind and warm people. However it’s also a state that voted for President Business Deals by eight percentage points and consistently sends the dumbest people to the Statehouse to legislate the rest of us.
I knew there were anti-vaccine idiots in state government but I had no idea there were this many. Check out this list of Ohio state representatives and senators who have either endorsed anti-vaxx legislation or been sponsored by groups who spend their time lobbying these idiots about the risk of autism in vaccines.
(Spoiler: There is no autism in vaccines and even if there were you’re a shitty parent if you think having autism is a worse fate for your child than dying of polio.)

Seeing the likes of Liberty graduate Andrew Brenner, gun-fellator Nino Vitale, sex pest Niraj Antani, domestic abuser Kris Jordan, former Jim Jordan intern Susan Manchester, boyfriend-threatener John Becker and sentient Brietbart comment Don Manning on this list is absolutely no surprise.
These people are either a) stupid enough to believe this propaganda or b) are smart enough to know better but have no moral qualms about tapping into a vein of motivated one-issue voters at the expense of public health.
The most disappointing name on this list is Stephanie Howse, one of eight Democrats to make this list. But that’s on me for being naive in basing my opinion on a politician’s social media. I thought I knew better but this is a lesson that I don’t.
The vaccine issue is a lot like the abortion issue. Most normal people agree vaccines are good much like they do about abortions.
However the problem is the proponents go about their day doing normal things like working and hanging out with their family while anti-abortion and anti-vaxx drones spend their day peddling pseudoscience on Facebook and pulling other misinformed dopes into their pitiful causes.
Anyway if you want to help get some of these bums out of government here’s a good starting list to target in the spring and donate to their opponents:

DEWINE ADMINISTRATION ONLY WANTS TO HEAR A CERTAIN KIND OF FOSTER CARE EXPERIENCE

Governor Mike DeWine loves nothing more setting up advisory committees to explore important issues that he won’t act upon.
Anti-abortion forces have been working for decades to undermine Roe vs. Wade in Ohio. But for such a pro-life state our foster care system has been an absolute mess.
The recent state budget threw some money at the problem but there’s obviously more to be done considering DeWine wants to listen to kids, parents and advocates about their experience in the foster care system.
The only problem is they only want to hear from a certain kind of foster kid, parent or advocate.
From Laura Hancock of cleveland.com:
COLUMBUS, Ohio – To improve Ohio’s foster care system, Gov. Mike DeWine assembled an advisory council, which has scheduled seven meetings across the state to listen to kids, parents, advocates and others.
The problem, advocates say, is no meetings have been scheduled in or near Cleveland or Cuyahoga County – which in October, accounted for over 17% of the state’s 16,186 children in foster care. Nor are any scheduled for Cincinnati or Columbus. Together, Ohio’s three largest urban areas have 45% of the state’s foster kids – not to mention nonprofits and other agencies heavily involved in the system.
Nor are there any meetings scheduled in Summit, Lucas and Montgomery counties, which also top the state in the number of children in care.
…
“That would definitely be a concern because we have a large population and many of the people aren’t necessarily able or willing to venture that far,” said Jackie McCray, deputy director of the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services. “However, they have legitimate suggestions, legitimate concerns, and I think their voices need to be heard.”
Overall, McCray and others are happy that DeWine is turning his attention toward improving the system. In the two-year budget passed over the summer, hundreds of millions of dollars were directed at services to help children, including those in the foster system.
Republicans love to pretend people in cities are the elitists who don’t respect rural America. (For the record I don’t think living in a city makes me better than rural Americans. Only suburban Americans.)
But the truth is Republicans look down on city-dwellers and don’t consider us “real Americans.”
CHANGE TO BALL SYSTEM COULD BE A MONEY-SAVER

In America we like to pretend you’re innocent until proven guilty. But that’s only if you’re rich enough to afford bail. If you can’t afford bail then it’s fuck you have fun living in jail and losing your job while you await trial for a crime you may or may not have committed.
But that could soon change in Ohio if the Supreme Court makes the right decision.
From Laura A. Bischoff of daytondailynews.com:
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Supreme Court is considering changing the state’s rules for setting bail in criminal cases, which could have a big impact on the liberty of thousands of Ohioans and on how much taxpayers pay for jail expenses.
The rule change could affect the fates of roughly 11,000 people on any given day in Ohio who are awaiting their day in court. The bail-bond industry is squaring off against civil-liberties groups over the issue.
The purpose of bail – conditions set for release from jail before trial — is to protect the public from harm and ensure a defendant shows up for court. In Ohio, financial conditions, such as cash or a bond, are often ordered for someone to be released pre-trial.
Bail rules can affect how much taxpayers shell out for jails. Across the state, it costs $728,816 a day on average to keep 11,000 inmates in jail while they await trial, according to the Ohio Legislative Service Commission analysis. That adds up to $266 million a year.
We spend damn near a million dollars a day incarcerating people who have yet to be proven of a crime. But god damn you if you advocate for a policy in this state that would help working people. All you’re going to hear is BuT HoW wIlL wE pAy FoR iT!?!?
You’d think this would be an easy decision for the Supreme Court. But don’t forget one of the justices is Mike DeWine’s soon-to-be-twice-divorced son who enjoys not paying child support and fucking his mistress in his mom’s condo. So who is to say what will happen? Not me.
SMALL-TOWN JUDGE ON SOME BULLSHIT IF YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT

Another myth Americans are told is that we live in a democracy where the will of the voters must be respected. That’s true unless some judge decides the results your town’s popular referendum can’t be seen by the public!
From thenewspaper.com:
The people of East Liverpool, Ohio voted Tuesday on an anti-speed camera referendum, but those votes will not be counted -- at least for now. Columbiana County Common Pleas Judge Scott A. Washam intervened in the election to prevent the public's decision at the ballot box from being revealed. Residents of the notorious speed trap town have tried for more than a year to get their measure on the ballot only to be thwarted by legal challenges from city officials who want to save the lucrative program.
"Sadly the votes for our issue have been sealed and won't be released until Judge Washam rules on the lawsuit filed by the city of East Liverpool against us and the Board of Elections," East Liverpool Citizens Against Traffic Cameras said in a statement. "This all could have been avoided had city officials simply allowed us to vote, but, regardless, this is the reality of the situation."
The group expects a ruling on whether the votes will or will not be counted by early December. Courts around the country have intervened on occasion to stop elections and save the use of automated ticketing machines, but none have ever gone so far as to nullify votes once cast (view a list of the 42 photo enforcement ballot contests around the country). East Liverpool officials insist the initiative is invalid, claiming it is untimely. Law Director Charles L. Payne asked the judge to issue a permanent order ensuring the ballots are never counted.
Before John Kasich got a job pretending to be a moderate in CNN he was the governor of Ohio who raided the Local Government Fund to the point that small-town politicians now have no other way to fund their municipality other than entrapping people passing through with bullshit speeding cameras.
CLEVELAND TO AMAZON: HERE IS SOME FREE MONEY IN EXCHANGE FOR THE JOBS THAT WERE COMING HERE ANYWAY

Politicians love throwing taxpayers’ money at wildly successful corporations to relocate to their city. They get the headlines for brining JOBS to the community and they’ll be out of office when the ramifications for those abatements come due.
But this week we saw Democratic Rep. Marcia Fudge on the stump lauding Amazon for bringing 2,000 jobs to Cleveland in exchange for millions in tax breaks.
From Lee Chicolte of clevescene.com:
This year, the Ohio Development Services Agency awarded Amazon state tax credits worth $7.8 million over 10 years for the North Randall facility, $3.9 million over 10 years for the Euclid facility, and $7.1 million over 10 years for the planned Akron facility. Amazon also received $8.5 million in grants from Jobs Ohio. Finally, the company received 75-percent local property tax abatement in North Randall, and 15-year, 100-percent tax abatement in Euclid.
The answer to Fudge's question, many critics argue, is that there would be no cost, and no question, because Amazon would have located the jobs here anyway, without subsidies, in order to fulfill its objective of offering one-day shipping to Prime customers.
"The thing worth focusing on here is: Why is Amazon receiving tax breaks at all?" says Zach Schiller, research director at Policy Matters Ohio. "If you want to provide next day delivery or maybe even sooner than that, you can't do that from warehouses located hours and hours away. For Ohio to provide a penny of tax breaks for them is a penny ill-spent, because these facilities have to be located in Ohio ... the state of Ohio should not just be subsidizing any company that comes in and asks for a tax break. We have limited resources, an opioid crisis, and public education that is insufficiently funded, so we can't provide for those if we give away all our money through tax breaks."
To recap: Ohio and the con artists at Jobs Ohio gave nearly $30 million to the richest man in the world in exchange for jobs that geographically speaking couldn’t have gone anywhere else.
YEAH, YOU THOUGHT YOU GOT AWAY WITH MURDERING A PIZZA DELIVERY WOMAN

One Ohio woman helped murder a pizza delivery woman over seven years ago and she thought she got away with it until this week!!!
From ksby.com:
NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio -- An Ohio woman has been charged with the 2012 murder of Ashley Biggs , a Domino's pizza worker who was strangled after she was lured to a secluded business.
Erica Stefanko, 36, was indicted by a Summit County grand jury on 12 charges, including aggravated murder, murder, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, gross abuse of a corpse, felonious assault, retaliation, tampering with evidence, grand theft of a motor vehicle and possession of criminal tools.
She was arrested Monday morning during a traffic stop by New Franklin police and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
…
Investigators said Biggs was then ambushed by her former boyfriend, Chad Cobb, who strangled the woman with a four-foot-long zip tie. Her body was stuffed in the back seat of her car which was abandoned in a Chippewa Township cornfield in Wayne County.
This may be a too hot of take this early in the morning but I’m going to let it rip: Murder is bad. But if you decide one day to murder someone and then you literally pick a worker on the lowest rung of society? Yeah there’s an even darker and deeper place in Hell for you.
Or at least there better be because if there isn’t then what the fuck is even going on anymore.

THOSE WMDs.
