Columbus Councilman Emmanuel Remy subject of workplace complaint from female subordinate
The complaint will likely result in a city payout after next week's election, multiple City Hall sources told The Rooster on Monday night.
Columbus City Councilman Emmanuel V. Remy is the subject of an employment complaint lodged by a female council staffer, multiple sources told The Rooster on Monday night.
The complaint will likely result in a city settlement, which one well-connected source said was intentionally kept off the council’s agenda until after the Nov. 4 Election.
The 53-year-old Remy is currently running unopposed in District 4, which includes Linden, Northland, North Central, and East Columbus neighborhoods. He also works at a realty firm in the affluent Columbus suburb of Upper Arlington.
Remy was the only member of the nine-member city council absent from Monday night’s meeting, the last scheduled before next week’s election.
“I am not in a position to confirm or comment on any legal or personnel issues,” wrote city council communications director Jose Rodriguez in a statement to The Rooster.
When reached for comment by phone, Remy’s campaign manager, Millie Vaughn, denied any knowledge of a settlement.

I've seen his Legislative Assistants come and go for a long time. This makes sense now. Of course, City Council DOESN'T HAVE ANY ATTENDANCE POLICY so he can skip as many meetings as he wants (and get automatically re-elected). This is CORPORATOCRACY.
