It’s weird how baseball players and hockey players can brawl and it’s “part of the game” yet when it happens in the NFL and NBA it suddenly becomes a moral crisis. Somebody should do some research into the big differences between those four leagues because unfortunately I can’t put my finger on the issue.
Unfortunately now I have to watch Maurkice “Free Hernandez” Pouncey pretend somebody getting hit in the head with a helmet is some egregious crime punishable by years in prison.
Not me. Not today. I don’t care if they suspend Myles Garrett for a year. He’s a hero in my book and this is how I’ll forever choose to remember Mason Rudolph: the man on the ground calling another man standing on his feet “a bitch.”
Of course Rudolph waited until after the game to the guy who finished the altercation he started a “coward."

I’m not one of those middle-aged freaks that sits around missing high school. Sure I had fun but truth be told that shit sucked. Having to be at a desk at 7:30 a.m. and being surrounded by a bunch of idiots isn’t something I would ever want back in my life.
Also high school kids are vicious. They love making up rumors and bullshit because their frontal lobes aren’t fully developed.
Unfortunately the risk of that in America is we live in a country where everyone — even the teens without fully developed frontal lobes — have easy access to murder machines.

CANTON A 14-year-old boy killed a teen girl execution style because he apparently believed a false rumor she was pregnant and thought he was the father, according to prosecutors.
Isiah Lynch pleaded true — the juvenile equivalent of guilty —Wednesday to a murder charge for the March fatal shooting of 14-year-old Sylvia McGee.
Lynch was 13 at the time of McGee’s death.
Following a plea hearing in juvenile court, Assistant Prosecutor Michelle Cordova said Lynch told police he believed McGee was pregnant.
“That is what I believe got this whole thing started,” she said, noting McGee was not his girlfriend. “There was no evidence of any other reason for this.”
Cordova said the girl had not been pregnant, citing the results of McGee’s autopsy.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but my god it’s insane the level of carnage we allow in this country simply because 18th-century enslavers wrote some ambiguous language into the Constitution that erected our government that literally no other democracy has copied since then.
FINALLY SOME GOOD ABORTION NEWS IN OHIO
Yes once again we’re talking about abortion in my morning newsletter because unfortunately we live in the state where insane religious bigots have seized the means of production within our state government.
However yesterday there was rare good news for the pro-science side when the last abortion clinic in the Dayton area won a years-long fight to remain open.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Dayton area's last abortion clinic has prevailed in a years-long battle over Ohio’s stringent new licensing requirements and will remain open.
The Ohio Department of Health has granted Women’s Med Center a surgical facility license.
The center in Kettering had postponed surgical abortions as it pursued multiple avenues to stay open, including state and federal court challenges and negotiations with local health systems and doctors.
Of course as I said earlier we live in Ohio so when we’re talking about good news on abortion it almost has to be immediately followed by bad news which in this case is the religious zealots once again attempting to push a potential law that has already been laughed out of court across the country.

A new bill sponsored by two Republican Ohio lawmakers would completely end the practice of abortion in the state — a sweeping measure one local pro-choice advocate said “would strip every person who can get pregnant of their bodily autonomy.”
State Reps. Ron Hood and Candice Keller are the lead sponsors of House Bill 413, which, among other provisions, seeks to legally recognize unborn fetuses as people, according to a news release from the Right to Life Action Coalition of Ohio dated Thursday and obtained by The Washington Post. Anyone who performs an abortion, according to the release, would be “subject to already existing murder statutes.”
It was not clear late Thursday if the bill had actually been introduced into the Ohio Legislature, though Ohio state Rep. John Becker (R) — who proposed an abortion bill in May that falsely suggested doctors can reimplant ectopic pregnancies — told Cleveland.com he is a co-sponsor of this bill.
Every dipshit sponsoring this bill is a self-proclaimed “fiscal conservative” but yet none of them have any problem with Ohio spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to defend this bullshit law in courts.

Credit where it’s due: For every 1,000 terrible bills that get proposed in the Ohio Statehouse there is always one good bill at max.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) —State Senators Kristina Roegner and Bob Peterson want to stop changing clocks twice a year, and they aren’t alone.
Twinsburg city council member Jo-Ann McFearin brought the idea to Roegner after seeing Florida pass similar legislation.
The Ohio bill requires the state to observe permanent Daylight Saving Time, which is not permitted by Federal law. Back in 1966 the federal government passed the Uniform Time Act which requires states that observe Daylight Saving Time to all change the clocks at a set time twice a year.
When that change happens has shifted over the years, and currently it is the first Sunday in March at 2:00 a.m. (moving clocks ahead an hour) and again on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 a.m. (moving clocks back an hour).
This makes too sense to happen. But a man who is sick of changing the clocks twice a year can dream.
COP DECIDES TO RUN OVER RABID RACOON FOR SOME REASON
Richland Ohio is basically the 19th century Wild Wild West and as proof of my theory I’ll present this video of a police officer deciding to run over a raccoon in front of citizens for some reasons.

A graphic video that appeared online captured a Shelby Police vehicle running over was what is suspected to be a rabies-infected raccoon several times.
In a cell phone video that was posted to Facebook, a vehicle emblazoned with the Shelby Police logo can be seen running over an animal in the street, hitting it with its front left tire. The animal can be seen flailing and writhing around in the street as the vehicle turns around to make another pass.
As the vehicle makes a second pass, it misses the animal with both the front and rear set of tires, at which point the onlooker advises the person driving the vehicle, "You missed him again!"
The vehicle then backs over the animal with one or both sets of tires as the person recording the scene says, "One more!" The animal lies still in the street as the car drives over its body one final time.
This article shows the preferential treatment given to police officers by local media. The “graphic video” shows a “Shelby Police vehicle” running over a rabies-infected raccoon as if it’s the vehicle that chose to do that out of nowhere.
Also the onlooker advises “the person driving the vehicle” as if it’s a random citizen behind the wheel and not an ordained police officer.
Makes you think for sure.

Society would be a better place with fewer draconian prison sentences but honestly Margret Breeze is one of the exceptions.

BROWN COUNTY, Ohio (FOX19) - An 11-year old girl who endured years of horrendous living conditions is now free, according to the Brown County Prosecutor’s Office.
The girl was starved and forced to sleep on a urine-stained mattress in a trailer.
When police found her, she was just 47 lbs.
“They had her in diapers,” Brown County Prosecutor Zac Corbin told FOX19 NOW. “She was in a diaper when the officer went out and found her, presumably because there was no restroom in that trailer.”
Corbin says the child was monitored through a video feed.
Margaret Breeze, 47, is the woman who had custody of the child. She and her husband were staying in a home on White Oak Valley Road, where Corbin says they could watch what was happening in the trailer on a computer screen.
The Only Girl in the World is one of the creepiest memoirs I’ve ever read in my life. It’s about the childhood of a woman who grew up under a sadistic Mason. And even that book did not reach the depravity found in Brown County.
