Feb. 12, 2019: John Dorsey Pawns Soul for Running Back
Ohio still ripping off medical weed patients, Saudi Arabia disappears citizens accused of crimes in America, and more.

The Browns fired Hue Jackson and rallied to a 7-8-1 season headlined by the electric Baker Mayfield. The heater inexplicably continued when the Browns passed on NFL retreads like Adam “Cocaine Eyes” Gase and Greggggg Williams.
They currently sit on the most cap space in the league and have ample draft picks despite picking outside The Top 10 for the first time since the Clinton Administration.
General Manager John Dorsey chose to spend the amassed good-will capital on a disgraced running back linked to three assaults in 2018. The worst being the hotel surveillance tape leaked by TMZ after NFL “investigators” failed to obtain when ostensibly investigating the incident.

Huh, Dorsey suddenly sounds like a Baby Boomer. Sadly, the math checks out.
Dorsey needs to cut the shit. This isn’t a humanitarian effort. Hunt wouldn’t be a Brown if he were a borderline talent. This move was 100% football driven, just like it was when Dorsey, then the general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs, excused the trail of red flags that dogged Hunt all the way back during his college recruitment. (Why do you think Ohio State passed on him?)
The signing is a cynical gambit by the Browns. They know the outrage cycle can only last so long and most fans will excuse murder if the perp is scoring touchdowns for the right team. After all, the team erected a statue outside the stadium to notorious woman-beater Jim Brown and it somehow hasn’t been dynamited.
I accept that I’m a hypocrite. I’ll be right there watching the Browns on opening day. That’s how untreated mental illness works. But I will never under any circumstances cheer for Hunt. Dorsey is dead to me, too. Him and Jimmy Haslam can share a cell in a super-max prison for all I care.

Ohio continues to move a mid-level dealer’s worth of marijuana to the state’s sickest residents, and we’re still ripping them off on the way to the grave. I’m not sure whatever sickness weed can cure (all of them, according some advocates) is worth $483 an ounce.

The Oregonian uncovered Saudi Arabian students attending college in eight different states disappeared while facing criminal charges. One such case happened in Xenia (see above), and the suspect has evaded justice for over 30 years.
From Shane Dixon Kavanaugh of oregonlive.com:
Abdulrahman Ali Al-Plaies
Greene County, Ohio
Disappeared: November 1988
Abdulrahman Ali Al-Plaies, 27, was accused of causing a fiery car crash that killed a 79-year-old woman in the center of Xenia, a small Ohio town, in June 1988. Officials with the Saudi Embassy in Washington, D.C., demanded police release Al-Plaies from jail, claiming the Central State University student was mentally ill and the accident not his fault, records show. The embassy later retained Steven Hurley as his private attorney. Authorities did not seize Al-Plaies’ passport and were told it had been misplaced or lost, according to a letter from the prosecutor’s office. Days before his November trial, a judge inexplicably cut his bail by half, to $25,000, and the Saudi Embassy put up the cash. The young man walked out of jail the same day with a Saudi military officer. He got into a car and was never seen in this country again. “I can only describe this case as justice delayed, if not denied, by a foreign government,” Stephen Wolaver, the attorney assigned to prosecute Al-Plaies, recently told The Oregonian/OregonLive.
The government of Saudi Arabia is a massive violator of human rights that publicly executes gay people. Maybe one day America’s leaders will figure out the true price of befriending them for the sake of cheap oil. Definitely won’t happen while President Dictator Lover reigns.

The Ohio General Assembly returns to action soon, which always brings fresh horrors to our state.
State Senator Matt Dolan for some reason isn’t publicizing his plan to reduce regulations on the radioactive compound used to combat ice on the state’s roads.
From James F. McCarty of cleveland.com:
A team of scientists from ODNR’s division of Oil and Gas Resources Management/Radiation Safety Section, and the Environmental Safety Section compiled the seven-page report. The team tested 14 samples of AquaSalina from six locations in Cuyahoga, Summit, Tuscarawas and Guernsey counties.
All of the samples were found to contain elevated levels of radioactivity in excess of state limits on the discharge of radioactive materials. The average radioactivity in AquaSalina also exceeded the drinking water limits for Radium 226 and Radium 228 by a factor of 300. Human consumption of any amount of AquaSalina is highly discouraged, the report said.
…
Members of the state legislature rejected the reports’ findings, introducing a law last year that would ease regulations on AquaSalina, treating it as a commodity rather than toxic waste derived from oil- and gas-drilling operations. The law would also prevent ODNR from imposing any additional requirements.
Additionally, the bill would require testing of AquaSalina no more than four times per year and would not require ODNR to test the brine for radium or heavy metals.
Sadly, scientists lose to lobbyists every time in this state. The good news for Senator Dolan is he’ll be out of office by the time the environmental and health consequences become clear. By that time, he’ll probably be retired enjoying his blood money.
But wait! The horrors don’t stop there. The Ohio General Assembly plans to revive the Heartbeat Abortion Ban, which even John “I closed half the abortion clinics in this state and abortions went up 1%” Kasich found too extreme.
From Kantele Franko of the Associated Press:
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Republican lawmakers in Ohio proposed again on Monday one of the most restrictive abortion measures in the nation, and this time around, they have the governor’s support.
New Republican Gov. Mike DeWine has indicated he would sign the so-called heartbeat bill that was twice vetoed by his GOP predecessor.
The measure would ban abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected. That can be as early as six weeks into pregnancy, before many women know they’re pregnant.
Get a load of the sex-havers pushing this monstrosity on Ohio women:

[From top to bottom: House Speaker Larry Householder, Governor Mike DeWine and Senate President Larry Obhof.]
Not hard to understand why Ohio hemorrhages young people when we allow three puddles of pink flesh whose dicks haven’t worked in two decades dictate women’s healthcare.
I would say this bill will get laughed out of federal court like the rest of the Religious Right’s attempt to jam their freakish agenda down Ohio’s throats. However, Republicans recently installed two white men named Neil and Kevin to the Supreme Court, so who knows?
Either way, California and Colorado look more enticing by the day.

THOSE WMDs. Medicine’s racism problem goes deeper than yearbook photos… Ocasio-Cortez retracts erroneous information in Green New Deal… “Weaker than Hillary:” Democrats cast deep doubt on Biden’s 2020 run… Private Mossad for hire… Wealth concentration at levels unseen since the Roaring 20’s.
