The mayor's decision to run for re-election has put him on a collision course with two younger rivals, and that realization has exacerbated his worst qualities in recent weeks.
"Klein was a lifelong Republican, right up until he decided to run for office in Columbus."
This is false. I moved to Columbus because my girlfriend worked on the 2008 Cordray AG campaign. Guess who Cordray's body man and closest adviser was? Before that he worked for VP Biden. All years before his 2011 council appointment.
IDK, he’s either playing a genius long game or is just another careerist from the start, his track record at council points to the latter. Time will tell but I agree he appears the least odious of current options.
Ginther can best be described as center-left on social issues while far-right on economic issues. His tax abatement policies are like trickle-down economics on steroids.
Klein is a slightly more right wing version of Ginther without the baggage and Hardin is still a status quo candidate. You start to wonder if the developer class views Ginther as a squeezed out lemon…

This is pretty sloppy, IMO!
ACK need to edit. He worked for Biden after Codray. Still years before he was an "elected" official.
Right. And he was doing all that because he planned to run for office.

Yup, which is why it’s pretty wild he is losing more of the business community every day.

Development in Columbus has slowed in the urban core and the city is annexing at a clip to make up the difference
I really enjoyed the link to the travel adventure around Roosevelt - great story telling!
