Emergency Rooster: Mike DeWine appoints former Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel to serve as Lieutenant Governor!
Governor Mike DeWine announced former Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel as his next lieutenant governor on Monday.
You have to hand it to Sleepy Tea on this one, folks: He ran a tight ship on this one, and it’s easy to see why.
The conventional thinking was that DeWine would appoint someone without political ambition because of his unpopularity with the types of voters who would decide the 2026 GOP gubernatorial nominee.
Well, DeWine went the opposite direction with an unorthodox selection of Tressel, who admitted in his press conference that he’d need some introduction to the political realm.
For reasons I lay out in the video above… I think this appointment spells bad news for notorious conman Vivek Ramaswamy, who is set to announce his gubernatorial campaign in the coming weeks.
I’ll have more to report in Wednesday’s dispatch after what should be a busy day tomorrow on Capitol Square.
See you then, my friends!

There's gotta be a joke here about Tressel Ball/Tressel government. Doing spending $3 billion at a time, etc.
USA has an orange blob of rage and confusion as second in command, Ohio has a former football coach who's not Tommy Tuberville.
In a two-word sentence that is rarely uttered these days: Ohio wins!
