Great piece on vets/teachers! You can turn a metaphor and simile like breathing in and out. Also, keep up the comments on transit issues, cycling, etc! I’m a geriatric snowbird and am now in St Pete organizing a coalition to fight the huge amount of pedestrian/cyclists deaths & injuries (4th worst rate in nation).
Will do brother! Keep fighting the good fight. Everyone needs to lean on their politicians right now about transit. It’s a disgrace in this country that’s become normalized.
As a new reader of the Rooster, and soon to be subscriber, I can attest as a former teacher that the job for public school teachers is beyond any normal human's capabilities these days. The attitude of admins that teachers are "guilty until proven innocent", the behavior of children who have failed to receive "home-training" from responsible parents; the ever-increasing workload; the threat of violence in the classrooms--I could go on. Most who go into the profession leave after three years or less; I suspect veterans would fare no differently. Keep up the good work, when I have the money I will subscribe.

Well to be fair they already have a ton of experience being shot at so this could be a nice segue into civilian life
