WHITE SUPREMACY GROUP THINKS AMERICA SOLVED RACISM LONG AGO
The Republican National Convention — that is to say the four-day service worshiping at the altar of the dumbest president in history — enters Day 2 today. If it’s anything like Day 1, we should be in for a rollicking good time at the expense of the criminal syndicate ruling our country.
To attend one of these events as a delegate requires a politically poisoned brain that I’m not sure even I have. Say what you want about these freaks, they’re at least more politically engaged than most voters on the street.
That’s why it’s totally predictable that Ohio’s Republican delegation doesn’t think racism is a serious problem or what Black Lives Matter is a legitimate political movement.
From Darrel Rowland of dispatch.com:
In a Dispatch survey of the GOP delegates, 43% said racism was “somewhat of a problem” in our society today, while 57% viewed it as only a “small problem.”
None of those who responded labeled it “a big problem.”
When Democratic delegates were asked the same question, 87% said racism is “a big problem” in the nation.
And 97% of the Democrats said they approve of the Black Lives Matter movement generally. That compares to 15% of the Republicans.
Of course these people think racism isn’t a problem. They live in white communities and are only friends with other white people. The only black people they interact with are presented as inner-city boogymen doing “riots” while a multimillionaire white TV anchor drones on about how Marxists are coming to the suburbs soon to loot and pillage. (God, I wish I lived in that America.)
Keep in mind these freaks delivered this forsaken opinions about racial justice on the same day Kenosha, Wisconsin police shot Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black father, seven times in the back for the high crime of breaking up a neighborhood fight.
None of them can even envision being friends with someone like Blake. They’ll often gripe about how “police shoot white people, too” as if that’s a defense in the first place or like they’ve even know a white person who has suffered from police brutality.
A lot of Democrats seem to think the Republicans will be relegated to the dustbin of history if Trump loses. Not even close. There will always, at least in my lifetime, be an electorally significant amount of voters in this country who detest social change and believe in racial and economic hierarchy. Those people will continue to turn out for the GOP, even if their leader is no longer a raging, incompetent narcissist who routinely says the quiet part out loud.
DUMBEST MAN IN OHIO TREATS HIMSELF TO A LITTLE BIRTHDAY IMPEACHMENT OF THE GOVERNOR
Make no mistake, I too would love to see Mike DeWine impeached and removed from power with how he’s handled our response to coronavirus. He threw Dr. Amy Acton under the bus and dragged his feet on reinstating a mask mandate weeks after he flip-flopped on the one he originally tried to mandate.
Sadly, I do not have much in common with the cause of Reps. Nino Vitale, John Becker, and Paul Zeltwanger. There are coma patients in this state with more brain activity than those three geeks combined, and they showed their ass yesterday when shamelessly introducing impeachment legislation that they immediately admitted had no chance in passing.
From Jessie Balmert of cincinnati.com:
Some of Ohio’s most conservative lawmakers want to impeach Gov. Mike DeWine over how he’s handled the novel coronavirus.
Discontent brewing since DeWine ordered the polls closed in March came to a head Monday morning. Several GOP lawmakers drafted articles of impeachment against DeWine, who is also a Republican.
But even Rep. John Becker, R-Union Township in Clermont County, who is championing the effort to oust DeWine, said DeWine’s detractors don’t have enough votes to remove the governor right now.
And thanks to gerrymandering, it’s more likely the Republicans gain seats in the Legislature this fall. Hopefully I’ll be dead from coronavirus by then because I want off this ride immediately.
OHIO STATE WILL LOSE $130 MILLION IF THE LOCAL TEAM DOESN’T PLAY
I accepted back in March that Ohio State wouldn’t play a season. That’s my motto: Expect the worst at all times and don’t even bother preparing for the best ‘cause it ain’t happening.
In 2020, I have yet to be proven wrong.
I have enjoyed watching right-wing Ohio State fans melt down over the prospect of not being able to spend their Saturdays watching amateur athletes play a children’s game.
I’ve also taken solace in that Ohio State footballers know exactly how much their labor is worth now.
From nbc4i.com:
COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Ohio State University is preparing for a $130 million decline in athletics revenue in fiscal year 2021, compared to fiscal year 2020, due to the postponed fall athletic season.
According to documents released in advance of an upcoming Board of Trustees meeting, the delayed fall season and related ticket, media, conference and game guarantee revenue adds up to a loss of $130.3 million over the fiscal year.
The 2020 Big Ten Conference fall athletics seasons, which include the sports of football, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country, have been postponed and is a major driver of this decrease, according to the university.
Make no mistake — Ohio State will lose $130 million if the Ohio State football team doesn’t play a season. Well, that might be hyperbole. They’ll lose $125 million if the football team doesn’t play.
I won’t shed tears either if this leads to cuts in “non-revenue” sports. I’m tired of watching stiffs play sports nobody watches for a free ride on the back of predominantly black labor that are playing the most dangerous sport of all.
Men’s basketball, football, and whatever the two most popular women’s sports are. That’s it. The rest should be intramurals.
WELCOME TO THE BEST HEALTHCARE SYSTEM MONEY CAN BUY
When I hear some mark say something ludicrous like, “America is the best country in the world!” My response is always, “In what?” If it’s anything other than dropping bombs on impoverished countries, then I’m failing to see their point.
Take healthcare. Sure, if you’re super rich, America is a good place to get sick. Everyone else? Not so much.
From zanesvilletimesrecorder.com:
The price for bypass surgery varies widely among Ohio hospitals — by more than a quarter million dollars — with a sticker price ranging from $13,024 to as much as $288,182, according to a new report by The Center for Community Solutions.
And the average list price for the procedure in the Buckeye State, $187,164, was more than two times the national average.
In an eye-popping analysis released Monday, the Cleveland-based think tank examined 2020 pricing information at Ohio’s 206 hospitals for six common procedures. Not only did the price vary widely from hospital to hospital, but also, for each procedure, the average cost in Ohio was much higher than the national average. Likewise, the average cost in the United States was far greater than the next highest industrialized nation.
For bypass surgery, the average price in the United States was $78,104 — two times higher than the next highest-priced nation, South Africa, where the average price for same procedure was $30,609.
Looks like I know where I’ll be headed if I need heart surgery. Sure as hell won’t be at the neighborhood hospital.
