🚨Ohio State football blogger Kirk Barton allegedly killed a man in a DUI crash 🚨
Barton and his customized Ford Raptor were involved in a fatal DUI crash in Dublin early Saturday morning, according to local law enforcement officials.
According to the Dublin police department, a drunken Barton sustained non-life-threatening injuries when he crashed his customized Ford Raptor into a parked vehicle. That driver, 24-year-old Ethan Perry, died on the scene, according to authorities.
Barton has been charged with aggravated vehicular manslaughter. NBC4i first reported the news.
The crash occurred at roughly 3 a.m. near downtown Dublin, with Barton’s Raptor traveling at “an extremely high rate of speed,” according to a release.
Barton currently works, at least in part, as a blogger for Buckeye Scoop. According to the company’s Instagram Stories, Barton spent at least a portion of Friday night at Fenders, a bar in Westerville, for a subscriber meet-and-greet:
Barton and Buckeye Scoop have not been without controversy over the years.
Delaware County Sheriff’s deputies infamously subdued a saucy Barton with tasers and charged him with felonious assault of an officer in June 2018 after Barton spent the afternoon drinking shots of Fireball at the Memorial Golf Tournament.
In 2022, Ohio State revoked Buckeye Scoop’s credentials after Barton and longtime business partner Ken “NevadaBuck” Stickney stole practice footage and leaked nuggets of gleaned information to their subscribers.
