Rooster in Review: Give the gift of The Rooster at 50% off
What's $33 to ruin Niraj Antani's year?
It’s currently -6 degrees in Columbus with 50 mph gusts of wind and snow. You don’t want any part of Christmas shopping right now. You already know retailers will promising you shipments that won’t come in time.
Don’t fret. Give your loved one the blessing of The Rooster. Or, even better, give your most hated enemy the curse of The Rooster screeching in their mailbox about some random government bureaucrat every Monday through Friday at 4:33 a.m.
It’s that special time of year, too. The Rooster’s year-end sale, where I further complicate my taxes by lowering the sticker price to get as many people into the fold entering the New Year.
Take the plunge today.
As always, thank you for subscribing to The Rooster. Even the freeloaders in the back.
This week in Ohio Man…
Look, if you’re going to threaten an election official, at least go to prison over an election that happened in your state of residence.
From Patrick Damp of cbs.com:
WASHINGTON (KDKA) - The U.S. Department of Justice has filed federal charges against an Ohio man for threatening an Arizona state election official.Â
The 44-year-old Joshua Russell allegedly left voicemails threatening to kill an official in the Arizona Secretary of State's office, leading up to the midterm elections.Â
Russell's arrest is the result of Attorney General Merrick Garland's Election Threats Task Force.Â
If convicted on all charges, Russell could face more than 20 years in prison.Â
Mr. Russell should send his legal defense bills to the Ohio Republican Party. These views aren’t out of line with any of their leaders; they just can’t agree in public (most of the time).
This week in The Rooster…
Even a self-styled king takes a tumble from time to time. State Senate President Matt Huffman (R-Lima)’s hubris got the better of him in the Lame Duck Legislature, much to the benefit of everyday Ohioans.
The response to the COTA scandal says a lot about Columbus. Powerful people in Columbus do not ride the bus. So the COTA IT outage is treated as a non-story despite being a major issue for a mass transit system for 1.2 million people.
The best way to kill is with a car. The driver who killed a four-year-old girl in a crosswalk on Halloween faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. At least he was charged.
The Rooster’s Christmas Mailbag. Answering political and personal questions from the unwashed masses. This week’s top dispatch is free for all.
From the top down. The latest revelations in the ongoing HB-6 scandal show how First Energy suborned everyone from the president of the United States to the dipshit mayor of Akron. Most of the perpetrators will walk away.
As always, be sure to follow The Rooster on Twitter for all of Ohio’s depravity, all the time.
