Rooster in Review: Man, sure seems like the cops love selling drugs
And down goes one of the losers who killed my friend!
Breaking news out of a downtown Columbus courtroom just moments ago.
Dwayne Cummings, one of the two losers who murdered my friend Greg Coleman Jr. and then bragged about it on social media, was found guilty on all counts by a jury of his peers.
Cummings is the one who passed off his illegal handgun before sucker-punching my friend from his blind spot the second he put his hands down. I’d be lying if I said this verdict didn’t feel good, even though it’s an empty form of justice that won’t bring my friend back.
His accomplice, Chrystian Foster, is set for a bench trial in the coming weeks. He’ll no doubt be rethinking that move after seeing his friend go down in flames.
Special thanks to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, of whom I’ve been critical in the past. One down, one to go…
This week in Bust Ups…
On Tuesday, I crashed a press conference headlined by Ohio Attorney Dave Yost and State Reps. Brian Stewart (R-Ashville) and Phil Plummer (R-Dayton).
The focus was on new legislation to legalize suffocating death row inmates to death with nitrogen gas, a form of execution recently utilized by Alabama in its unrelenting quest for death.
You can read witnesses’ accounts from the scene and judge for yourself if this is a method of execution, which isn’t even allowed on stray dogs, that we as a state should be pursuing.
But afterward, I caught up with Attorney General Yost to talk about the merits of the death penalty as well as Ohio’s ongoing efforts to recoup millions of dollars from Bill Lager, the longtime Republican donor and architect of the massive ECOT swindle.
Yost, as you’ll remember, gave ECOT an accounting award as state auditor.
This week in Ohio Man…
Almost a year after federal prosecutors sentenced two Columbus police to prison for dealing fentanyl, two more Columbus cops have been pinched for stealing and selling cocaine.
United States Attorney Kenneth Parker, who is prosecuting the HB-6 case, unveiled federal charges against John Castillo, 31, and Joel Mefford, 34, in federal court Thursday afternoon.
It seems like Mefford didn’t learn much from his day job investigating criminals because he took $72,000 of unwashed drug money and deposited it into his personal bank account.
From 10tv.com:
On March 7, Mefford allegedly took a bag containing multiple kilograms of cocaine from a house on Ambleside Drive and arrested a suspect. He then traveled to a house on Kilbourne Avenue and removed another kilogram of cocaine. That same day, he turned in one kilogram of cocaine to evidence and stole the other kilograms to be sold.
A month later, he allegedly stole 20 kilograms of cocaine from the Columbus police property room and replaced it with fake cocaine.
Mefford is accused of depositing more than $72,000 in cash derived from the cocaine sales into his personal bank account.
This kind of stuff is just the tip of the iceberg with the Columbus Division of Police. I doubt these are the last charges we’ll see, either, because Castillo and Mefford undoubtedly know about other corrupt cops’ activities and they’ll sing like birds to reduce their sentences,
This week in The Rooster…
Y’all wanna see Governor Sleepy Tea run like a bug? Governor DeWine does NOT want to discuss friendship with corrupt lobbyist Dan McCarthy or Neil Clark killing himself in a “DeWine for Governor” shirt.

Snort 😂 love the pic before the WMDs - also, I’m happy there’s still a smidge of justice in the world.
Got to love cops that live in the sticks being the literal source of crime for the same "big city" they probably trash talk for the crime.
(Glad they got the first one of those jagoffs for your Dude, and look forward to round two)
