Rooster in Review: Stop replying to Frank LaRose's dumb-ass tweets
It only makes that loser stronger.
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose is going to run for Senate against Sherrod Brown in 2024. That’s the worst-kept secret in state politics. Whether LaRose emerges from that brawl of losers remains to be seen, but the winner will face Brown in what will likely be the last interesting statewide general election in our history.
But that is why LaRose’s campaign team has been tweeting incessantly about national politics. Here is the most recent example:
Notice those 225 replies. Most of them are telling LaRose to gargle his own balls. Which is fine! That’s what makes Twitter great.
However, LaRose doesn’t write his tweets. He doesn’t run his Twitter. It’s some little gremlin who spews Republican tripe intentionally structured to anger libs into tweeting back at him that he’s an idiot.
The problem is Twitter’s algorithm doesn’t differentiate between hate and support. It just sees “225 replies” and assumes that LaRose has produced something of noteworthy engagement.
In a way, responding to him out of hate only guarantees the tweet will be seen by more people and will lead to more dumb-ass tweets from the account of our Secretary of State.
Don’t take the bait! This is something that took me years to learn. If you really want to have your say, take a screenshot of the tweet and add your comment that way.
A good rule of thumb: Replies and quote retweets are for your friends to boost their engagement. Screenshots are for your enemies.
This week in Ohio Man…
Every day I wonder why I didn’t become a grifter in life. I think that because I see stories like this and realize it’s a lot easier to scam people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars than I would have thought.
From Hannah Rabinowitz of cnn.com:
CNN — An Ohio man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Wednesday for pretending to be a Ghanaian prince and swindling more than a dozen victims out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Daryl Robert Harrison, who went by Prince Daryl R. Attipoe and Prophet Daryl R. Attipoe, conned at least 14 people out of more than $800,000 according to evidence shown at his trial.
Harrison was convicted in September of mail and wire fraud, conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and witness tampering.
On the flip side, I would need to grift a lot more than $800,000 to risk 20 years in prison. That’s a number that gets a lot smaller as the years get added to your sentence.
This week in The Rooster…
State Senator Andy Brenner (R-Powell) cracked like an egg in two days. The juiceless state senator, who only won power through gerrymandering, becomes the third state legislator to be sentenced to the gulag on charges of running like a bug.
America’s descent into fascism as traced by ‘Columbo’ and ‘Chicago PD.’ You can learn a lot about the current state of America by comparing Lieutenant Columbo to Sergeant Hank Voight.
The Holy Rollers get desperate. State Senate President Matt Huffman (R-Lima) and State Rep. Derek Merrin (R-Monclova) have a problem. And their solution shows how desperate they are.
As always, be sure to follow The Rooster on Twitter and TikTok for all of Ohio’s depravity, all the time.
