Rooster in Review: The Return of Rooster in Review
Here's a flash sale on subscriptions to celebrate the best two weeks in the history of The Rooster.
Thank you to President Xi Jinping’s Patriots Caucus and the freeloaders in the parking lot… and especially to the haters and losers… for making this the best two weeks of traffic in the history of The Rooster.
As a token of my gratitude, here is a 20% off flash sale coupon. I know some of you freeloaders got paid today and want to join the Caucus:
Also of note, as I wrote earlier this week, I am wading back into the Buckeye Football Cinematic Universe as a minority owner with Meet at Midfield, which you should follow on Twitter.
Meet at Midfield, which, again, you should follow on Twitter, features names like:
The Generals of the Flipping the Field Air Force, Ryan Donnelly and Patrick Mayhorn.
And a couple other characters to be named at a later date.
As such, all my Ohio State-centric writing will be shifted to that site. I have also created a new Twitter for sports banter/personal hot takes, which you can also follow on Twitter at @proton_don if you simply can’t get enough of my neurotic opinions in your life.
This week in Ohio Man….
Shawnte Hardin is currently on trial in Toledo for over 40 charges connected to his running of a fake funeral business.
Charges range from abuse of a corpse to passing bad checks, and for some reason only known to him and God, he took to the stand this week and claimed he defrauded all those victims because he wanted to help them.
From Kevin Landers of 10TV.com:
The state rested its case last week. On Tuesday the defense began by putting Hardin on the witness stand.
Hardin flatly denied when asked by his attorney if he ever impersonated a funeral director. He denied that he abused corpses or illegal transported dead bodies. Ohio law does not require a license to transport dead bodies, nor does it require someone to have a license to preform most funeral services. The law does require that bodies be refrigerated prior to burial or cremation.
"I love helping families because the funeral industry has abused many things. I love to help a family to help them get through the process," he said.
The funeral process has probably abused many things, especially as corporations swallowed local businesses. But, brother, you’re being charged with abuse of corpses and running an illegal business. You can’t say you did that to help people when the person who got helped the most was yourself.
A look back on a historic two weeks for The Rooster:
The Inside Scoop on OhioHealth’s Layoffs. Why OhioHealth cutting 650 “IT” jobs is a heinous decision that will lead to dire mistakes in patient care.
When It All Falls Down. Grift Cassidy and the Steroid Kid pull one last fuck-you on their customers before the duo’s inevitable implosion.
Columbus’ Ice Cream Queen Got Rich by Treating Her Workers Like Shit. You’re going to have to join the Patriots Caucus to get the goods in this article.
As Prophesied, Columbus City Council Didn’t Have That Dawg in Them. You should show up and yell at your loser local politicians more often. It’s the only interaction they fear.
If Tim Ryan Can’t Beat This Broke Bum J.D. Vance, a Democrat Will Never Win Statewide in Ohio Again. Vance is treating his campaign like a book tour and Ohio Republicans are starting to grumble.
Thank you again to old and new readers alike, and remember, if you want to join the Patriots Caucus… here’s a coupon for 20% off, forever:
See you next Monday at 4:33 a.m. for another week of excitement.
