Yes! Hello! It’s D.J. Byrnes here, owner and operator of The Rooster. Letting you know we’re back in action for the weekly Rooster in Review series.
We’ll start with some news that The Rooster broke last night about our dear friend, Secretary of State Frank LaRose:
Moreno’s campaign made the news official earlier this morning.
I gotta say, folks, as LaRose’s No. 1 hater who predicted his campaign would be dead on arrival a month before he declared… his Senate campaign is going beyond even my wildest dreams and hopes.
Sources tell The Rooster that LaRose dragged four staffers to Brown County in an attempt to stave off yet another country party endorsement for Bernie Moreno.
Can you imagine what that two-hour ride back to Upper Arlington was like for that crew? Watching their dear leader pour his soul out in front of a committee of political hobgoblins, only to get shit on for his efforts despite being the only candidate that made the pilgrimage?
At least Matt Dolan was smart enough not to waste his time!

When did Center for Christian Virtue’s Aaron Baer betray his Jewish faith?
Aaron Baer, the president of the putrid Center for Christian Virtue, loves baselessly calling me an antisemite.
But I’ve always wondered what is more antisemitic than betraying your Jewish faith, like Baer did, to stand with Evangelical perverts who don’t believe Jews can obtain Heaven because they don’t believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
I decided to ask Baer that very question on Wednesday after I caught him celebrating the House’s override of HB-68, which will strip children and teenagers of their healthcare and ban six transgender girls from participating in high school sports.
You can see the clipped version in the video above, with he full version of our discussion below, so nobody can excuse me of selected editing:
I am no paragon of perfection. But at least nobody can accuse me of actively making life worse for thousands of people while standing aside as Republicans push economic policies that favor the rich at the expense of the poor.
My guess, and it’s only a guess, but the Jesus that I read in The Bible won’t know Baer when that time comes.
This week in Ohio Man…
I’m not going to lie. I laughed as hard as most people at that video of that American criminal faking a terminal illness in an interview to avoid extradition to America that he tried to escape by faking his death.
I had no clue that bozo was an Ohio Man! I should have guessed.
From David Winter of abc6onyourside.com:
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A former Ohio resident accused of crimes ranging from sexual assault to fraud is back in the U.S. from the U.K.
This bizarre story has garnered international intrigue after he allegedly faked his own death to avoid prosecution. Nicholas Rossi, also known as Nicholas Alahverdian, is now 36 years old.
He's back in Utah facing sexual assault charges for allegedly raping two women. Alahverdian, the name under which Utah officials are prosecuting him, arrived back in Utah after being extradited from Scotland where he's also reportedly accused of other crimes.
His story beings in Utah in the mid-2000s where two women accused him of raping them.
"He's a pathetic character and I wouldn't want to be in his shoes,” said David Leavitt the former Utah County Attorney.
One of the most shocking things about this story, other than the obvious, is that the dude is 36. My God! You need to moisturize, folks. Don’t let this travesty happen to you.
This week in The Rooster…
The Proud Boys don’t seem that proud. Recapping Saturday’s hilarious rally featuring fascist bigots who are only proud as long as their identities stay hidden. Unfortunately for them, they chose the wrong town to attempt that.
Good riddance to my old friend Jena Powell. State Rep. Powell, who lives 75 miles outside her district, won’t seek re-election in 2024 after she used electoral hijinks to handpick her chosen successor, Pastor Jon Newman of Troy.
In Ohio politics, the bullies usually win. The shambolic vote on Wednesday to strip transgender people of healthcare and ban them from their proper sports teams is yet another example of why Ohio needs legislative redistricting reform.
