Why haven’t we heard from the Mayor, appointed city council and the Franklin County Democratic Party about their position on the Columbus City Schools levy. Isn’t education an important issue in a growing cowtown?

Perhaps they figure promoting a tax increase for schools after handing $$millions$$ to developers in abatements is a bad look.

Where is all the money for public transportation in this city? Why do the busses only seem to drive down very specific roads, back and forth, as infrequently as they do.

Expand full comment

Many millions of taxpayer dollars collected for bus service is sitting in their bank account unspent since they’ve drastically reduced service.

Is there a solution for Cbus city schools? Are we supposed to just accept mediocre public schools in the city?

Should poor people be concerned about the out-of-state tech investments in central Ohio? Do they stand to benefit from the investment?

Why isn’t there a federal court in Columbus, despite it being the most populous and only growing city in Ohio? What makes Cincinnati and Cleveland so much better?

There is a federal courthouse in Columbus, actually. https://www.ohsd.uscourts.gov/content/columbus

Can we expect any Dem bust ups for being spineless careerist freaks selling out the working class?? I don’t expect anything less from them because they are the other capitalist party but them going along with the redistricting pissed me off.

We already know that the state of actual democracy in Columbus and Ohio is, well, dogshit. You've spent a LOT of time in and around spaces where actual power and decision-making are being wielded. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations on where our limited energy should be directed in terms of actually putting meaningful, material pressure on the elites that rule us?

Any chance we can expect more of your sports takes again anytime soon? I say this as someone who has enjoyed your 11W/Sadcast/MaM days as much as your Rooster work. It was good hearing you post-ND on High Street Freaks. I know you made a conscious decision to focus on The Rooster (which I respect), but I was just wondering. Thanks, and keep up the fight.

I am “Proton Don” on Twitter where I give my sports takes if you’re over there.

It would help too if Watson would break his leg so I could get back to feeling some sort of joy discussing the browns. But the hard truth is sports mean less and less to me the older I get, which is something i know would have bewildered me 10 years ago. I just dont have the time.

What are your thoughts on the Joe Motil campaign in Columbus?

I think you mean No Juice Joe.

I like Joe personally but I have about as much chance as being mayor and wish we could do better for a candidate on the left.
