If you feel yourself tempted to give it to DeWine and Huffman, for finding $25M to help SNAP recipients, don’t:

- the $7M for foodbanks is still less than the $7.5M the GA cut from foodbanks in the most recent state budget.

- the $18M for OWF families is coming from the state’s TANF surplus—federal funds meant for needy families that the state has hoarded over the years instead of paying out to needy families

Let me see if I got this right. . . 25 million to feed poor, hungry children for a few days, or 600 million to build a new stadium in Cleveland for rich team owners. Ohio Republican priorities are clear.

Oh yeah, that too. Let's rescind that money and feed some kids. I'm part of the team on a church urban farm in Cleveland that donates all its food to feed hungry people in the neighborhood and we're looking for ways to ramp our production next year because more people re in need. Jimmy Friggin' Haslam can kiss my ass. I haven't seen him out there in the rain ad cold spreading compost and planting collards in March.

Isn’t there something about that in the Christian bible that all these folks claim to follow? "There will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you to open your hand to the needy." Deuteronomy 15:11 I guess Ohio Republicans think that rich team owners are the needy. The rich are always needing more tax breaks and public money!

While I could understand Cincinnati Democrats' frustration, Landsman is that same guy who was voted to "express gratitude" to ICE, voted to repeal police reforms in D.C., has made shady trades of United Health while sitting on the Subcommittee of Health and has not only been a staunch supporter of Israel but has at least taken one trip over there while in Congress, to name a few.

This is also the same guy who was SILENT while the city was getting dragged through the mud nationally because of the brawl downtown in which typical racial stereotypes were (and still are) played out.

If I'm correct the district is still a toss up, so I would like to think Cincinnati Democrats could use this opportunity to demand more from Landsman then to get all upset over a potential republican congressman, even though we already have a pseudo republican in office now for us.

and what do you think a MAGA Republican would've voted for? Yes, Landsman is ranked one of the more conservative members of the House Democratic delegation but right now, there is a gulf of 66 points on crucial votes, 50 points on overall votes between the most conservative Democrat (Henry Cuellar) and the most "progressive" Republican (Brian Fitzpatrick). (I almost fell over when I saw the "crucial votes" score this morning. !!!! I thought I was reading wrong.) Landsman is ranked 188th, but he votes the progressive position more than 80% of the time. He's no Shontel Brown, Ohio's most progressive congressperson and one of the most progressive in the House, but it's a different district and he votes the progressive position an overwhelming majority of the time. Get rid of Landsman and you could have another Michael Rulli or Troy Balderson who have zero scores.

You've mentioned several times throughout this saga that Republicans wouldn't be able to "ratfuck" the language on a potential referendum. Why is that? They were able to do it on Issue 1 last year, so what changed?

I have an idea. Let's cancel private school vouchers for next year to feed hungry people in Ohio. No kid whose family has a six-figure income needs an education welfare check (voucher) to go to a selective, elite private school not open to most kids.
