Two Cops, Seven Kilos of Fake Fentanyl
"It was enough to kill the entire metro population of Columbus," as the cops would say if the accused were run-of-the-mill drug dealers.
Jeff Simpson, the Executive Vice President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9 in Columbus, took to Twitter five days ago to place the blame of a teenage fight on city leaders who apparently are letting criminals run amok in our streets.
“Juvenile crime propaganda” — whatever that is — seems to be a common refrain of Simpson’s:
Interesting musings from one of the dumbest albeit powerful people in Columbus. I would venture to say that these examples are just another example of cops being unable to prevent any crime, even when it’s being performed by teenagers with underdeveloped brains.
Interestingly enough, it’s been over 24 hours since news broke about the FBI pinching two narcotics cops for selling drugs and offering protection for drug shipments to the criminals they were supposed to be chasing.
From the Department of Justice:
Specifically, it is alleged that, in March, April, May, August and September 2021, Merino accepted a total of $44,000 in cash in exchange for protecting the safe transport of at least 27 kilograms of cocaine. Unbeknownst to Merino, there was no actual cocaine and each of the transactions was controlled by federal law enforcement.
During the transports of the purported cocaine, it is alleged Kotchkoski made himself available by radio to make any calls that Merino might need, including to other law enforcement officials, to protect the safe transportation of the cocaine. According to an affidavit, cell phone data places Kotchkoski near Merino during the transports.
In June and August 2021, Merino allegedly distributed approximately seven and a half kilograms of fentanyl that Kotchkoski provided to him. It is alleged that Merino would make between $60,000 and $80,000 for the sale of the fentanyl.
Kotchkoski is a stereotype of everything I hate about the Columbus Division of Police, a crooked and racist institution if there ever was one. This jackass didn’t wake up one day and decide to sell some fentanyl. He made $150,000 last year (with full benefits and a pension) and he never should have been in that position in the first place considering he knocked a stranger unconscious while off duty at the Dublin Irish Festival six years ago.
From Homa Bash of news5cleveland.com in 2015:
Columbus Police officer has been charged with assault after Dublin Police said he punched and kicked an unconscious Lakewood man.
John J. Kotchkoski, 27, of Powell, Ohio was charged with assault and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 1.
According to a Dublin Police report, Kotchkoski kicked another man twice near his head and face after knocking the man unconscious and lying on the ground on Aug. 1 at the Dublin Irish Festival near Columbus.
…
The man Kotchkoski is accused of kicking, 26-year-old James Walsh of Lakewood, had a concussion and required stitches under his eye after the assault.
"For whatever reason, he went after me. I don't know him, I've never seen him in my life," Walsh said. A witness said the incident appeared unprovoked.
Kotchkosi, who even back then was afraid to live in the neighborhoods he policed, was a narcotics officer when he assaulted this stranger, though he was “reassigned” as if that was an actual punishment for some psychopath that hospitalized a stranger for no other reason than he probably thought he could get away with it.
And you know what? He did! There is zero record of this story being recorded in Columbus media. It only appeared on a Cleveland website due to the victim residing in Lakewood.
What were the consequences for his bad behavior? The Fraternal Order of Police protected him and even allowed him to retain his old job down the line, and now six years later he’s evolved into thinking he can get away with moonlighting as a drug trafficker and cartel security guard.
Here are some other headlines from recent years that come off the top of my head, varying from run-of-the-mill time theft all the way to rape and murder.
Officer Andrew Mitchell awaiting trail on charges he raped women and murdered another under the threat of arrest.
Vice Officers Steven Rosser and Whitney Lancaster extorted Kahoot’s Gentlemen’s club, leading to an $185,000 settlement with the owner and six dancers. The unit would later be dissolved.
Reinstated Officer Randall Mayhew, who raped sex workers while on duty.
Targeted Stormy Daniels for arrest while performing at Siren’s Strip Club, leading to a $450,000 settlement.
Murdered Ma’Khia Bryant, Casey Goodson Jr, and Andre Hill, just to name a few in the last year. Only former Officer Adam Coy, who had a long list of disciplinary problems, has been charged in the death of Hill.
Three officers plead guilty to time theft, an issue that has plagued the department for over a decade.
They shot an unnamed person (as of this writing) just yesterday.
Black CDP officers say they’re battling the racism of CDP, too.
And this is just the stuff we know about, which means these heinous acts were probably performed by the dumbest members of the Division. What about the crooked cops that have the sense not to try to traffic seven kilos of fentanyl — “enough to kill the entire metro areas of Columbus!” in typical cop parlance — or have the emotional intelligence not to shoot an unarmed black person on camera?
There is no “real consequences” for those kinds of crooks, and that’s just the way the pigs that lead their union like it. They will continue to take our tax money out of the city and then blame local leaders (as if they’re the ones who flooded our streets with guns and drugs) for any spike in crime they failed to prevent despite a bloated $337 million budget.
The Division of Police clearly has numerous psychopathic criminals within their ranks and they can’t or won’t do anything to stop them. The only reason we caught these fentanyl freaks were because they were dumb enough to do a drug deal with federal agents. If not, they would still be in business today because their own colleagues sure as hell weren’t going to do anything about them.
I realize “Abolish the Police” is a radical idea in this country, but at the very least the people who equate police with safety should want every officer to be fired from the CDP and forced to reinterview for their positions.
Would the cops cry? Absolutely. That’s all they know how to do. But it would also be a surefire way to get rid of the ones who have no business wearing a badge in the first place. Until our local leaders grow the heart to do that, then the high crimes and misdemeanors will continue.
