My favorite quote about my home came from Hilly on Twitter: "Cincinnati existed for years before Ohio. Cincinnati has almost nothing in common with Ohio. Ohio just happened to Cincinnati."
It often feels that way to me. Reading about what's going on elsewhere in the state and especially the Statehouse always shocks me. It just seems so completely divorced from civic life here.
There's lots of great cycling here, too, and it gets better every year.
I used to be one of those CINCY IS KENTUCKY HURR HURR HURR guys, but then I grew up. I have nothing but respect in my heart for the Queen City now. I had never heard that quote about Ohio happening to it, either. Thank you for that.
Good luck w the ride! I noticed the return trip wasn’t mentioned. Can you ride 200 miles in a weekend or do you have a lift back to Columbus? Glad the weather is gonna be great for the adventure
