I think Lou’s point is if you defund and demoralize police as all liberal mayors across the US including Mayor Ginther have done, this is the result. Serious crime rates are skyrocketing, so minor offenses are essentially left unpunished. Although large businesses like Dick’s can absorb these losses, smaller business cannot and take a big hit. So, shoplifting is a big deal, especially with how rampant it has become (see Chicago), and it is not appropriate to minimize it. On another note, it is shameful to celebrate the death of a Supreme Court Justice (“glorious death of Scalia”) no matter what side of the aisle you are on. That is just sick and disgusting.
