Rooster in Review: It's all about psychic damage
It's always a good day when you can psychologically damage the notorious con artist currently running for governor.
I made a massive oversight in the June Mailbag, which was published this morning. I left out two of my all-time favorite shows while recommending streaming options to a curious reader:
The Americans (FX)
The Shield (FX)
The Shield was a particularly egregious oversight, as it introduced me to Walton Goggins over 20 years ago. I re-watched the series last summer, and it still has the juice, including an all-time villain performance from Forest Whitaker.
And per company policy, I fired the intern who was ultimately responsible for allowing that gaffe to appear in these pages.
I also wanted to answer questions that I missed in the inbox. As always, the questions appear in bold while my response appears in plain text.
What will State Rep. Allison Russo’s next move be?
Like with everything else, it all hinges on what former Senator Sherrod Brown decides to do, which is precisely how he wants it.
If Sherrod runs for governor, Russo will likely run for Congress against Mike Carey, in a district that, at least theoretically, would be much more winnable than it is right now, due to the Republicans wanting to screw Congresswomen Marcy Kaptur and Emilia Sykes out of their districts.
I’ve also heard that Secretary of State is an option, which would be bad news for first-time candidate Brian Hambley, an oncologist who has proved to be a respectable fundraiser.
If Sherrod opts for another Senate campaign, look for Russo to be the Lieutenant Governor for former Congressman Tim Ryan’s campaign.
I believe Andrew Brenner, Republican State Senator for District 19, will be term-limited at the end of 2026. Any idea if that race without an incumbent could get competitive or if there’s anyone the Rs would be pushing?
The State Senate District 19 Republican primary will be a smorgasbord of Republican-on-Republican violence.
While other candidates could emerge, the current contenders are House Reps. Beth Lear (R-Galena) and Brian Lorenz (R-Powell). Multiple sources indicate that Senator Brenner will support Rep. Lear in exchange for Lear's support for Brenner in the House seat she currently holds.
Theoretically, at least in paper, it will the chances of a Democrat pulling an upset in District 19 would be a lot higher in 2026 than in 2020. I have not heard any names in that regard (feel free to drop me a line if you happen to have heard otherwise), but I am partial to an old family friend: David Hogan, who has run against Brenner and Lear in past elections.
Happy Trails to Dr. Milroy Samuel…
Yesterday, The Rooster broke the news of notorious conman Vivek Ramaswamy hosting a fundraiser this weekend with Dr. Milroy Samuel, a former abortion provider.
A member of the Patriots Caucus had a fair question in the comment section of that emergency dispatch: Why didn’t I wait until after the fundraiser to burn Ramaswamy then?
As I wrote yesterday, it’s because Ramaswamy's inevitable defense was always going to be, “I didn’t know anything about that fella.” And I’d rather take the chance of throwing a monkey wrench into the fundraiser than allow that campaign to maximize the fundraising efforts at a $3 million home in New Albany.
And it gives me deep pleasure to report that we were successful in doing that. On Friday, The Rooster obtained the newest flyer for the event.
Dr. Samuel’s name has been removed as a co-headliner, with one Republican source saying that the Ramaswamy campaign had banned him from the event.
But it would appear the event has lost some serious juice, as the second flyer no longer includes the names of two corporate sponsors, a judge, or House Finance chairman Brian Stewart:

And you know what? To hell with Dr. Samuel. Right-wing freaks and heavy-handed regulation under former governor John “No. 1 Asshole” Kasich closed his and his father’s abortion clinic, and now, a decade later, he wants to cozy up to a notorious conman who considers abortion “to be a form of murder”?
Get serious with your life, brother. And while I’m most happy to have cost Ramaswamy’s campaign an untold number of dollars, I’m also glad to send a lesson to Dr. Samuel on what his support means to this class of people.
He was entirely expendable to them, just as he was when he was practicing the safe, legal and routine medical procedure known as abortion on Cleveland Avenue.
Oh well! Not my problem.

The Rooster is a 100-percent reader-supported publication. That means there is no boss or a rich, reptilian donor that political perverts can go crying to about unflattering coverage.
If you enjoy the social media coverage, the on-site videography, or the occassional free dispatch—it’s all made possible by the brave and noble soldiers in the Patriots Caucus.
I’d be honored if you took this blurb as a divine sign to help sustain the largest independently owned media operation in Ohio politics.
This week in Ohio Man…
Derek Myers, the former no-shot Congressional candidate with a long history of bizarre and unsettling behavior, has once again found himself in a situation where he claims to be a victim.
And you know what? He actually might be right this time, as it would appear that “Las Vegas City Marshals” falsely arrested Myers for D.U.I during a traffic stop that was well outside their jurisdiction.
From Darcy Spears of ktnv.com:
On the night of January 9, Derek Myers was pulled over on the 95 freeway by Las Vegas city marshals. They stopped Myers for alleged traffic violations and ended up arresting him on suspicion of DUI.
"I was in jail for 17 hours," Myers told 13 Investigates. He has since sued the city, citing a "Pattern of misconduct" by a "Rogue law enforcement agency" that potentially affects thousands of Las Vegas locals. The federal class-action lawsuit claims marshals arrested Myers illegally--far outside their jurisdiction — which Nevada law limits to the Fremont Street Experience, and real property owned, leased or controlled by the city — like parks and city buildings.
"This is a systemic thing that they’re doing," said Myers. "It’s not just to me."
And yes, Myers is generally an unreliable narrator of these events. His sense of victimhood goes back to childhood.
But the ACLU has joined this lawsuit about rogue Las Vegas Marshals arresting and detaining citizens well outside their jurisdiction, which, would appear to be a slam-dunk case to me, a cum laude graduate of the prestigious Twitter Law University.
Still, it’s a nightmare scenario if Myers somehow successfully sues the Las Vegas Marshals. He’s already insufferable enough. Could you imagine if he earned some sort of generational payday from the affair? My God.
This week in The Rooster…
It was another banner week of labor at Rooster Worldwide LLC, which included another emergency dispatch targeting a Ramaswamy fundraiser that has since lost major juice:
The curious case of the Congressman’s road rage. Max Miller, in my opinion, is lying his bony little ass off about a road rage incident that earned him nationwide sympathy.
The elites know nothing. Will the Democratic Party learn any lessons from the shocking landslide victory of Muslim socialist Zohran Mamdani? I’m skeptical!
Rejoice! The State Legislature can’t hurt us until September. The State Legislature passed its biennial budget on Wendesday, which featured some ghastly actions on top of the expected rob-from-the-poor-to-give-to-the-rich policies.
🚨Vivek Ramaswamy to attend fundraiser co-hosted by former abortion doctor. 🚨 It’s always a pleasure dealing psychological damage to the notorious con artist himself.
Welcome to the June Mailbag. Answering the readership’s burning questions and a defense of Lex Wexner, which has never happened in these hallowed pages before.
We’ll do it again next week at the same time and place.
Until then… stay frosty, my friends!
THOSE WMDs. IDF soldiers ordered to shoot deliberately at unarmed Gazans waiting for humanitarian aid… Migrants, desperate to reach the United States, are traveling in cargo trucks; some never make it… The mystery of Alzheimer’s disease in rural Colombia… How to redraw a city… Is theology dying?
So what do you think really happened to Max Miller? Is this a fabricated distraction from his other woes?
If Tim Ryan runs again, I will die of boredom and lack of enthusiasm. What a terrible candidate.
There's nothing to be learned from Mamdani's victory. It's too particularized a situation and I think the only reason the media (including, sadly, independent media) is tripping over its feet to find a bigger meaning or a "movement" is because they need something new and exciting as more and more people tune out Trump "news" and get away from following news at all. I mean, I've stopped reading anything about the Iran/Israel situation especially pertaining to Trump because what you read will be contradicted within an hour. Actually, in Trump's case, sometimes in the same sentence.
